Why "One Grain of Rice" is so awesome

This book (One Grain of Rice: A Mathematical Folktale) has to be one of the best ways to teach your kids (and yourself) about exponential growth. Why is it so important to learn about exponential growth? So many processes are governed by exponentials including interest income and debt, information technologies, and pandemics such as COVID-19.  Unfortunately our own ancient internal software (also known as our brain) is only really hard-wired to understand and interpret linear processes such as a lion running towards you. This book will help bridge the gap between linear and exponential thinking, plus it is an awesome book that tells an awesome story!
