Inspire Your Little Scientists with Ada Twist 👩🏾‍🔬

"Ada Twist, Scientist" is one of the first books that inspired me to start my "educational AND awesome" kids books spreadsheet. I realized that if there was one this good in the world, there had to be more!


There are many great things about this book. First of all, it tells the story of a young budding scientist, and through her experiments, we learn a bit about how science works. I also love how the book doesn't just exhibit the best parts about being a scientist, but also a few of the down sides. For example, Ada was a late talker, and often gets in trouble for her experiments (which end up making a pretty big mess in a few cases). It helps remind me to go easy on my own budding scientists, when they destroy the living room or make it look like a tornado just blew through the playroom.

To add even more to the quality of the book, all this awesomeness is packed into a consistent structure and rhythm that even rhymes! This is surprisingly hard to come by, especially in educational books.
